This Grimsby project was our most ambitious flooring scope to date: 2,400 square feet of engineered European white oak spanning every room on the main level of a four-bedroom family home. The homeowners had recently completed a kitchen renovation and wanted the rest of the floor to match the premium feel of their new space.

We selected a wire-brushed white oak with a natural oil finish — a texture that hides micro-scratches and foot traffic while showcasing the character of the grain. The oil finish can be spot-repaired over time without resanding the entire floor, making it a practical long-term choice for a busy household.

A project of this scale requires logistics as much as craftsmanship. We coordinated directly with the kitchen renovation crew to align schedules, moved and blanket-wrapped all furniture to a secured area of the upper floor, and arranged for the family to stay off-site for the duration of the install.

Full subfloor levelling was completed in a single day using self-levelling compound across the entire footprint. Acoustic underlayment went down next — important in this home because of the open floor plan and hard-surface acoustics. Twelve room-to-room transitions were templated and custom-milled to sit flush, maintaining a continuous visual plane from the front entrance through to the rear sunroom.

Completed in eight working days, the installation covers the foyer, living room, dining room, kitchen, family room, home office, hallway, powder room, laundry room, and sunroom. Every transition is flush, every baseboard replaced, and every piece of furniture returned to its original position. The family returned to a home that looked and felt entirely new from the moment they stepped through the front door.
