Burlington
Powder Room
Transformation

A bold, high-impact powder room redesign in a Burlington family home.

Overview

Proving that 35 square feet is more than enough to make a lasting impression.

The homeowners wanted their dated powder room to become a conversation piece — a space that would surprise guests and punch well above its modest footprint. The existing room featured a pedestal sink, basic builder-grade fixtures, and plain drywall that had yellowed over the years.

Our brief was clear: maximum visual drama within a compact 35-square-foot floor plan, without relocating any plumbing stacks. Every material and fixture was selected to amplify the sense of depth and luxury in a room most people spend only minutes inside.

Approach

Floor-to-ceiling zellige tile, a floating vanity, and wall-mounted brass — every inch considered.

The feature wall received 220 pieces of hand-cut 4×4 Moroccan zellige tile in a deep charcoal glaze, installed floor to ceiling with a 1/16-inch grout joint in matching charcoal. The irregular surface of each tile catches light differently, creating a textured shimmer that transforms under the geometric backlit mirror mounted above the vanity.

A 24-inch floating walnut vanity was custom-built with a solid surface white vessel sink and a single-lever wall-mounted brass faucet extending 8 inches from the tile face. Concealed behind the vanity, all supply lines were rerouted to accommodate the wall-mount configuration, requiring careful coordination between our plumber and tile installer to ensure flawless alignment.

Result

A jewel-box powder room that commands attention the moment you step inside.

The finished space feels three times its actual size thanks to the reflective zellige tile, the floating vanity that keeps the floor plane visible, and the warm glow of the backlit mirror casting even light across the charcoal wall. Brushed brass fixtures and a matte black toilet complete the palette, while new baseboard trim and Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace on the remaining walls keep the room grounded and clean.
